What a suspenseful ride, starting from the very first page! Ellis House is fast-paced, exciting, and well-written. The reader gets drawn into the mysterious world of residential treatment for emotional disturbed children as Channell paints a vivid picture of the corruption and chilling murder. She portrays the characters in such a deft manner that they seem so true to life! This is one book that is so intriguing and compelling that it keeps you gripped to the storyline until the last page. Grace Morgan is a refreshingly unique heroine- I’m eager to read about more adventures with her character!

OK, you got me… Your first chapter has totally fished me in and I can’t wait to have a chance to read the whole book. In fact, I found myself thinking “I wish I could get it as an e-book” because I don’t want to even have to wait for it to be shipped.

I don’t suppose you could put chapter 2 online as well?…… Just to tide me over?????

An exciting new entry into the field of mystery. I can see Dr. Maria Channell evolving into a splendid suspense writer.

Hello. I had to let you know that I read the book in one sitting the day after I bought it.. I kept saying to my husband that was I going to read one more chapter and then get on with my work and even go and paint but I never did. It’s a page-turner all right! It kept my interest throughout., needless to say! All the characters are strong and the conflicts are well placed and believable. Congratulations once again.

    Dear Maria,
I started reading your book because I thought I owed my old friend that courtesy. I finished it because I wanted to find out how the conflict and intrigue would resolve itself.
I found your book an interesting read. I particularly enjoyed the inside look of a group home told from the perspective of someone in the know. Having taught school for 34 years, I have met children who needed the support of a group home situation. I hope they never go to an Ellis House unless Dr. Grace Morgan is in charge.
Looking forward to your second book.
